For 20 years, You Make Me Smile Dental Centre has remained committed to supporting Quinte West & Belleville communities. Thousands of people in the area rely on our expertise to stay healthy.
To mark this milestone, we hosted a big event on October 2nd, 2021 to celebrate 20 years and give back to our community.
Our 20th Anniversary celebration was a charity event to raise funds for the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation. People from all over the area came to take part in the festivities. We raised $1 500 for the TMHF on that day. For our anniversary, Crown Dental Laboratory in Belleville also donated $1 000 to the Foundation.
On Saturday, October 2, we got more than 300 people attending our big event. You Make Me Smile gave away 50 teeth whitening certificates, 50 $20 credit vouchers and more than 200 gift bags to the people attending. We wanted it to be a big event, so we also gave away 3 participation prizes: a Yeti cooler filled with local products, a Nintendo Switch with 2 games and a Lakeside Motel getaway. The total value of the participation prizes was more than $1 500.
Our 20th anniversary was an unforgettable event. There was live music with local musician Andy Forgie who gave an amazing show like always, there was pop corn and cotton candy, there were games for everyone, etc.
We want to thank the Quinte West Fire Fighters for their attendance with fire trucks to promote fire safety in the area. We were also thankful to Quinte Broadcasting for bringing their live remote team to our event and promoting it on air.
We are very grateful to Burger Revolution and ArtiZen Cafe for attending and helping us raise funds for the TMHF. Both of them gave parts of their proceeds to the Foundation and they made sure that everyone on site had access to a nice warm beverage and great food.
In the spirit of giving back, participants could also purchase raffle tickets on site for a chance to win local products. All proceeds go to the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation and we are incredibly thankful to all the participating local businesses :

A TOTAL OF $22, 050 IN DONATIONS
Other donations were also made to local organizations such as $1 000 to the Trenton Military Family Resource Center (MFRC). Military community is huge in the area. Many members of our team are military wives/spouses, many of our patients are military families, we are very proud to work with such an amazing community! Military life can be complex and presents unexpected challenges. We made that donation to support the access and availability of programs and services provided by the Trenton MFRC to support military members and their families.
You Make Me Smile also donated $2 250 in sponsorship to the Belleville Children’s Foundation. We are very proud to have sponsored the Second Annual Kids Can’t-Wait Radiothon in support of The Children’s Foundation helping kids and youth in our community! The Children’s Foundation provides multiple programs and services to help our children and youth. This Radiothon was an event to raise funds for these programs. We look forward to working again with the Children’s Foundation next year to raise funds for the kids in the area.
Finally, last year, Dr. Younes (owner and Doctor of Dental Surgery) was generous enough to donate $15 000 over 3 years to Hospice Quinte for the new palliative care centre. The Hospice Quinte Care Centre will be a safe, comfortable, quiet and welcoming place that feels as close to home as possible. Professional care will be provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and at no cost to the family.
And finally, we wanted to do something to thank our seniors and make a donation to local long-term care homes. As a part of our 20 years celebrations, You Make Me Smile teamed up with Dahlia May Flower Farm’s initiative to get flowers into long term care homes. This initiative is a not-for-profit program, supported by community donations, to get fresh flowers to residents in all of the local Long Term Care homes in our area. We wanted to bring a little light to the residents in local long term care homes to thank them for their loyal support. Our team and Dahlia May Flower Farm team have brought flowers to over 465 seniors in 3 local LTC homes (Trent Valley Lodge, Hastings Manor Long Term Care Facility and Crown Ridge Health Care Services Inc).
