Do you have a toothache? Are you in pain? Maybe you are overdue for a dental cleaning? Are you struggling to afford the dental services you need?

Dr. Raed Younes and the You Make Me Smile Dental Clinic staff are excited to announce they will participate in the Day of Giving charity event by offering free dental cleaning, tooth extractions and emergency tooth filling to Belleville area residents who can’t cover the costs of essential dental services on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 8am to 4pm.

If you don’t have dental insurance, these critical dental problems aren’t easy to solve. That is why the You Make Me Smile team is offering their Belleville location to host the Day of Giving organized by Gift From The Heart, a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting oral health care professionals to vulnerable Canadians.

You Make Me Smile Communications Director Rachel Fortin said the entire team enthusiastically supports the event and looks forward to it.

“We are very excited and proud to be a part of the Day of Giving,” said Fortin. “Many of our team members will volunteer on that day, including Dr. Younes, hygienists, assistants and admin staff.”

If you need essential dental services, you can join the Gift from the Heart and You Make Me Smile volunteers in the You Make Me Smile Belleville clinic located at 488 Dundas Street West, Belleville, Ontario

Services will start at 8 am to the first 100 people or as many as we can treat by 4 pm!

Starting in 2012, You Make Me Smile Dental Clinic is the first in the area to do major charity events like Dentistry from the Heart and the Day of Giving.

“We give back a lot to the community,” said Fortin, “It is common for Dr. Younes to come into my office to announce a new charity event to participate in or an opportunity to give.”

Fortin gave an example of a young patient who told Dr. Younes about sponsoring him at the Skate Ontario Championship.

“He gave me the info and asked me to send a cheque immediately,” said Fortin. “Things like that happen all the time.”

Staff from both the Belleville and Trenton locations make a habit of giving back to the community. They recently made donations to 3 Oaks in Belleville, food banks in Trenton and Belleville, The Children’s Foundation in Belleville, Hospice Quinte, and the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Dr. Younes and the You Make Me Smile Clinic gives tens of thousands of donations every year.

This year, the Day of Giving is a part of the You Make Me Smile Clinic’s 20th-anniversary celebrations! Clinic staff plan to hold a series of community events celebrating two decades of providing dental services.

Fortin says the 20th-anniversary events are about celebrating the community and continuing to give back.

“We always give back as much as possible for big and small things.”
